THE LAST MA-LOO

BOOK 3 OF THE WARRENSBERG TRILOGY

"This morning I heard noises outside our house, and when I looked through my second story window, I saw four strange, otherworldly eyes staring back at me. These weren't the eyes of any folks you'd expect to meet here in Warrensberg or even on Hennepin Avenue in the Cities."
— Wilkin Delgado

The Ma-Loos are missing. (Which is not a good thing.) So 15-year-old Wilkin Delgado and 16-year-old Alice Jane Zelinski of Warrensberg, Minnesota, sign on to help intergalactic plumber Cardamon Webb find these “cute” critters and save the universe.

"All we really know about the Ma-Loos' appearance is that they're cute. That's it. Even Cardamon Webb's Plumber's Manual, which has more than 1,300 pages (minus one) of information about all the crazy crap in the universe, has no picture or drawing of a Ma-Loo (Greater or Lesser)."
— Alice Jane Zelinski

The problem? Ma-Loos are invisible and not all that social. Plus, they live on the Underside of the universe in a place called the “edges.” Another (minor) complication is that everything everywhere is imploding, Realities are crashing into each other and there’s serious crumpling going on. (Not to mention the maggots.)

"The Underside is not in any physical location. It is more of a metaphysical location. It infuses everything, if you get my meaning."
— Cardamon Webb

Fortunately (?), Wilkin and Alice Jane are joined by Loretta the puffin, a pair of newlyweds from Zorazeen, Alice Jane’s new boyfriend and a toga-wearing electrician named Floranacious.

"Prior to your departure and likely death, we require your signature, Miss Zelinski. A mere formality."
— Ceek, a Zorazeen from the Lombo-Geebo nebulae

As you can imagine, things don’t exactly go as planned.

"AMMERMAN STRUCTURES THIS CLEVER, ENGAGING STORY AS A SERIES OF ALTERNATING FIRST PERSON CHAPTERS NARRATED BY WILKIN AND ALICE JANE."
– KIRKUS REVIEWS (REVIEW OF WAITING FOR THE VOO)
"I decided to write something that was only mildly not uplifting. That was my starting point."
– Author interview with The Howling Turtle

You can order The Last Ma-Loo and the rest of The Warrensberg Trilogy (Waiting for the Voo and Escape fromDorkville) from your local neighborhood bookseller. That's where I'd go.
